Studio history

Sahara Sound is based in Fulham and was originally called Do Not Erase, home to Steve Levine who built the studio in the mid 1980s to work on his own productions. When Steve moved to the States, the studio was bought by Paul Brewster in 1990 and renamed Bunk, Junk & Genius (also commonly known as BJG). The studio found favour early on with producers such as Al Clay and Warne Livesy. A variety of artists came through the doors such as The Orb, Kylie and Pet Shop Boys. However, it was sometimes known as "London's best kept secret", something that we are obviously hoping to change! What we don't want to change is the goodwill that has surrounded BJG and made artists, producers and engineers want to return time and again. We think that the personal service that clients received has a lot to do with that.

Sahara Sound is also continuing the relationship with 360 Mastering, based in Studio 2 and run by Dick Beetham. Having a mastering studio on the premises is mutually beneficial and gives variety to the work that is done here. There is always the potential to go straight from an all-night mix session in Studio 1 to mastering the record in Studio 2! If you want more information please call 360 Mastering on +44 (0)20 7385 6161.
