News Update June 2004
It's been a busy few months at Sahara Sound. The bookings have been coming in and our client list is growing fast. Since our last update we have had Stereophonics back in the studio to try it out in it's new form. Stuart Crichton and Pete Craigie have been in working with Karen David and Narcotic Thrust; Matt Goss has been mixing his new album with producer Mikey Daley and Mikey has also been back in producing Michelle Lawson. Other producers and engineers using the studio include Ren Swan, Paul Tipler and Dave Bascombe, who has been mixing Bent's new album. We have also had AR Rahman, the renowned Indian film composer, recording in Studio 3.
However, the big news is that we have now held our official launch party which took place on Thursday 20th May. We had a good turnout and it was a great way to raise the profile of the studio and get some prospective clients through the door as well as a way of saying a big thanks to everyone who has been involved with the studio so far. Over two hundred people came to have a look around and everybody was very impressed by [with?] the studio and the facilities. The launch has already generated a lot of interest so we are looking forward to a bright future.

We also have more developments to announce in the studios. In Studio 1 we are very close to the installation of our new 5.1 monitoring system and we will be providing more details very soon. The system will also double up as a stereo system that can be used to complement the Dynaudios and the nearfields. Studio 3 is now going to be fully commercially available as a writing, pre-production and overdubbing facility. We are going to update the G4 in the studio so that we can incorporate more soft synths and plug-ins. The studio will remain a 24-track Pro Tools room (also running Logic software) with a Mackie d8B.
